RIE Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 28, 2026

Resume Intelligence Engine ("RIE," "we," "us," or "our") is a resume analysis and improvement platform designed to help users understand how effectively their resume communicates their experience and qualifications for a particular job opportunity.

RIE is currently in beta. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how artificial intelligence is involved, and the choices you have regarding your information.

1. Information You Provide

When you create and use an RIE account, we may collect information including:

  • Your email address and account information.
  • Resume content you upload to RIE.
  • Job descriptions you upload or enter.
  • Resume analyses and recommendations generated through your use of RIE.
  • Resume edits, drafts, decisions, and other content you create or save within RIE.
  • Feedback you voluntarily submit through RIE's feedback tools.
  • Screenshots you voluntarily attach to feedback.

RIE supports email/password authentication as well as Google and Apple sign-in.

RIE does not directly store or have access to your account password. Password authentication is handled by our authentication provider.

2. Resume and Job Description Files

When you upload a supported resume or job-description file, RIE extracts the text from that document in your browser.

The original uploaded file itself is not retained by RIE.

The extracted text, however, may be stored in your RIE account so that RIE can perform analyses, preserve your work, and allow you to return to previous analyses.

Information such as the original filename, file size, document type, and upload date may also be stored.

Because resumes commonly contain personal information, the extracted text may include your name, email address, telephone number, employment history, education, location, and other information contained in your resume.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information submitted to RIE primarily to provide and operate the service. This includes:

  • Analyzing how your resume communicates your qualifications relative to a job description.
  • Identifying relevant capabilities and experience represented in your resume.
  • Generating resume recommendations and alternative wording.
  • Providing recruiter-oriented and narrative assessments.
  • Preserving your Resume Workshop work, decisions, and drafts.
  • Maintaining your account and application preferences.
  • Troubleshooting problems and maintaining the security and reliability of RIE.
  • Reviewing feedback and improving the RIE product.

We do not sell your resume or personal information to advertisers.

4. Artificial Intelligence Processing

RIE uses artificial intelligence to perform resume analysis and generate recommendations.

When you request an analysis or AI-assisted feature, portions of your resume, job description, and relevant analysis context may be transmitted to third-party AI infrastructure for processing.

RIE currently uses the Lovable AI Gateway, through which requests to the Google Gemini models used by RIE may be routed through additional AI infrastructure providers, including OpenRouter.

Because resume and job-description text is not currently anonymized before AI processing, information contained in those documents—including names, email addresses, telephone numbers, employer names, dates, and other personal information—may be included in information sent for AI processing.

Third-party AI providers may maintain their own logging, retention, and data-processing practices. RIE does not currently make a guarantee that information processed through these services is subject to zero-data-retention or no-training policies.

For this reason, you should not upload information to RIE that you do not want processed through third-party AI services.

5. Information Stored on Your Device

RIE uses browser storage, including local storage, to support functionality such as preserving resume and job-description content, analyses, workshop progress, application preferences, onboarding state, and account-access flow.

This information remains on the browser or device where it was stored unless it is cleared by RIE, by you, or by your browser.

RIE does not currently use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics tools such as Google Analytics, PostHog, or Segment.

6. Beta Access and Usage Information

During the beta, RIE may record the access code and campaign or cohort associated with an account. This allows us to understand how users entered the beta and manage beta capacity.

RIE does not currently maintain a general-purpose behavioral event stream recording every action a user performs.

When you voluntarily submit feedback, RIE may capture contextual information to help us understand the issue, such as the page you were viewing and the action you most recently performed.

7. Feedback

When you use RIE's feedback feature, we may collect your feedback message along with contextual information such as the page or section you were viewing and technical information about your browser or device.

You may also voluntarily attach a screenshot.

Feedback may be retained after your RIE account is deleted because it can provide valuable information for improving the product.

When an account is deleted, RIE is designed to remove the direct account association and identifying technical information from retained feedback. Associated feedback screenshots are queued for deletion. The feedback itself and non-identifying product context may be retained.

8. How We Protect Your Information

RIE uses authentication, access controls, and database-level security protections intended to prevent users from accessing another user's resumes, job descriptions, analyses, workshop content, and other account information.

User-specific database records are protected through row-level access controls tied to the authenticated user. Administrative functions are separately restricted to authorized administrative or developer accounts.

No internet service or information-storage system can guarantee absolute security, and RIE cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.

9. Data Retention

RIE retains account content such as extracted resume text, job descriptions, analyses, and saved workshop information while your account remains active. RIE does not currently apply an automatic expiration period to this information.

Information processed by third-party infrastructure may be subject to separate retention practices outside RIE's direct control.

10. Account and Data Deletion

You may delete your RIE account at any time through Account Settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

When your account is deleted, RIE deletes account-associated resumes, job descriptions, analyses, workshop data, preferences, saved translations, roles, and beta-access records.

Feedback you previously submitted may be retained as described above after identifying account and technical information has been removed. Associated feedback screenshots are queued for deletion.

Information stored locally in your browser is cleared as part of the account-deletion process where supported.

Records maintained independently by infrastructure or AI service providers may be subject to those providers' retention policies.

If you experience difficulty deleting your account, contact RIEassistance@outlook.com.

11. Third-Party Services

RIE relies on third-party infrastructure to operate the service, including services that provide:

  • Application hosting and backend infrastructure.
  • Database and authentication services.
  • Google and Apple authentication.
  • Artificial-intelligence processing and routing.

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services and are subject to their own applicable privacy and data-processing terms.

12. Children's Privacy

RIE is intended for individuals using the service for employment and career-related purposes and is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. Beta Service

RIE is currently a beta product.

Features, data practices, providers, and functionality may change as the product develops. When changes materially affect how we collect, use, or share personal information, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.

The effective date at the top of this policy will indicate when the policy was last updated.
